The New Wave of Artificial Intelligence: The Future Has Already Begun

From San Francisco to San Jose, Silicon Valley is buzzing with one dominant theme: Artificial Intelligence.
Every meetup, every event, every hackathon speaks the same language – the language of AI. Young minds are coding, startups are pitching, and investors are eagerly searching for the next revolutionary breakthrough. This isn’t just about technology – it’s a movement, a mindset, a belief in the future.

Those who follow my forecasts and commentary on LinkedIn know that I’ve long emphasized the transformative power of AI across all sectors. The pace of change is unprecedented. As AI continues to evolve at lightning speed, one pressing question arises: How does AI process and store such vast amounts of data? That question is more relevant now than ever.

AI is no longer confined to centralized cloud systems. It’s moving to the edge – running closer to devices – enabling faster decision-making and greater operational efficiency. This shift is driving revolutionary changes across industries and empowering organizations to become more innovative and competitive.

Agentic AI – A New Era of Leadership Technology

A new concept, Agentic AI, introduces intelligent agents that enable companies to make quicker decisions and operate more efficiently. According to Gartner, by 2028, 33% of enterprise software will incorporate AI agents, and these agents will autonomously make 15% of daily decisions. This trend has already been named one of the top technologies of 2025.
Our national AI strategy for 2025–2028 is set to accelerate digital transformation across the country.

We’ve already begun integrating AI advancements into our digital product portfolio (such as mygov, Digital Bridge, and Digital Login). This is more than a technological upgrade — it represents a real improvement in the quality of services we deliver to citizens.

This transformation is not just a “next phase” – it’s a paradigm shift: services are becoming more proactive, transparent, and human-centric. At the heart of this change is AI, helping us design our products for the demands of tomorrow.

The Pace of Change is Astonishing

Just 18 months ago, generative AI and large language models dominated the conversation. Today, they are becoming the norm. AI has moved from research labs to real-world applications — with an impact rivaling that of the internet.

The key difference? AI is increasingly running in decentralized environments, at the edge, closer to the user.
For example, the phrase “Built for Apple Intelligence” now refers to products and services designed specifically to operate with Apple’s native AI technologies across iOS, macOS, and beyond. This reflects the shift toward localized AI processing within trusted ecosystems.

This rapid expansion is reshaping countless sectors. Companies no longer see AI as a future concept – it’s becoming a core part of daily operations. By the end of 2025, AI is expected to be a primary tool across fields from finance to engineering.

Adapt or Fall Behind

This transformation isn’t without its challenges. Legacy structures and rigid mindsets may struggle to keep up. But my experience tells me that agile teams, those who make quick decisions and aren’t afraid to experiment, will thrive in this new era.

As my friend Məmməd Kərim often says:
“If you launch your MVP and you’re not a little embarrassed, you probably launched too late.”

Just recently, we were discussing how even investment strategies are evolving. Investors used to focus solely on the team’s experience and leadership. That still matters — but now, the spotlight is shifting.

Today’s investors are asking:
“How smart is your AI agent?”
“How does your product evolve with AI?”
“What real-time decisions can your agent make?”

This shift underscores a deeper truth: It’s not just the technology that’s changing — it’s the way we build trust and create value.

In the world of innovation, don’t wait for perfection. Test fast, learn faster, and rebuild smarter. That’s the mindset we need to lead the future.
